A vulnerability scan that doesn’t auto-create an engineering ticket is a vulnerability scan that gets ignored. Here’s the connected architecture that turns findings into closed, evidenced fixes, the concrete build behind the vulnerability remediation pillar.

The three-system architecture

Three layers, each doing one job: the scanner (Tenable/Snyk/AWS Inspector) finds vulnerabilities; the ticketing system (Jira/Linear) drives the fix and holds the SLA clock; the GRC platform (Vanta/Drata) stores audit evidence. The integrations connect them so a finding flows automatically to a tracked, evidenced closure.

Tenable / Snyk / AWS Inspector setup

Configure scanners to run on a schedule and on change, scoped to production and customer-data systems. Normalize severity across scanners so your SLA mapping is consistent. Tag findings with the owning service so routing works downstream.

Jira automation rules

The core of the system. Rules: create a ticket per new finding; set priority and due date from severity (Critical 7 / High 30 / Medium 90 days); route to the owning team; escalate as the due date nears; and reopen if a rescan still finds the issue. This is where the 7/30/90 SLA is actually enforced.

Vanta evidence sync-back

On closure (verified by rescan), sync the result back to the GRC platform as evidence: the finding, the ticket, the fix, the rescan, the timestamps. This produces the audit-defensible chain that screenshots can’t, see chain-of-custody evidence.

Notifications and escalations

Slack alerts to owning engineers on assignment and approaching SLA; escalation to the lead on breach; a weekly digest of open findings by severity. Notifications turn a passive dashboard into an active operation.

Dashboards for monitoring

One dashboard: open findings by severity, closure rate within SLA, aging findings and exceptions. This drives the weekly triage and the monthly board report.

Where AttriEdge fits

We build this connected workflow and run the weekly cadence on top of it. The diagnostic assesses your current scan-to-closure pipeline and what it would take to connect it.
